A WONDROUS CONTAGION OF 1518

In the year of 1518, a most peculiar affliction struck the city within Strasbourg. Upon a dreary day, Frau Troffea, a woman known, was spotted dancing in the streets violently. Her zeal was unmatched, and she danced unrelenting for days. Folklore spread like wildfire as others were overtaken by a similar need to dance. Hundreds of the city joined
